The embassy manages comprehensive bilateral programs including counter-narcotics cooperation, security assistance, trade relations, and environmental protection in the Galapagos ecosystem. The U.S. also maintains a Consulate General in Guayaquil, Ecuador's largest city and principal port on the Pacific coast.
The embassy compound includes the main chancery building, consular section, and support facilities. Embassy business hours are Monday through Thursday 7:45am-12:30pm and 1:30pm-5:15pm, and Friday 7:45am-1:45pm. For U.S. citizen emergencies, contact +593-2-398-5000. Personnel sending mail should use the APO address format with the recipient's name followed by APO AA 34037. Delivery times from the United States typically range from 10-14 days.
